The Exeed E08 concept car from automotive giant Chery was the highlight of the Auto China show, which kicked off in Beijing on 25 April. At 5.2 metres in length, the car offers optimised interior space and maximum functionality. However, its robotic doors are particularly eye-catching. They can be pressed against the body and, if necessary, slide open to allow access to the third-row seats.

The concept model has not been finalised yet, so it is premature to talk about its future characteristics. There is a good chance that the Zigy could be 1.95 metres long, with a wheelbase length of 1.59 metres, a width of 1.1 metres, a height of 1.6 metres, a loaded weight of 353 kg and a turning radius of 7 metres.
The microcar will feature a roomy 30-litre boot. Optimised aerodynamics will provide a drag coefficient of less than 0.35, which will increase the range by a quarter compared to competitors.

The innovative Kenworth SuperTruck 2 truck was unveiled at the Las Vegas show, surprising visitors with its efficiency. The truck was the company’s response to the US Department of Energy’s call to increase the efficiency of commercial transport without abandoning diesel as the main fuel. The new truck’s powertrain shows wonders of economy, offering diesel consumption of only 18.4 litres per 100 kilometres driven.
The designers have also worked on the layout of the machine, reducing its weight by a solid 3221 kilograms. This was achieved by using lighter tyres, new materials and design solutions. The powertrain is a tandem of PACCAR MX-11 diesel engine and TX-12 gearbox. A 48-volt electric generator is the basis for a mild hybrid system that uses regenerative braking for charging. This system ensures that the truck’s auxiliary systems are not powered by the main engine. During bench testing, the engine demonstrated an efficiency of 55.7 per cent.

The French non-profit association SIREMS has started the development of an unusual three-wheeled motorbike Kairos. The machine will implement the ideas of transport designer Mathieu Lopiteau, who proposed two unique systems that provide the rider and passenger with safety on the road.
In general, three-wheeled cars are considered less safe than cars on four wheels. But the French have found a way to ensure that the Kairos has the right level of stability when cornering. This is achieved not only by placing both driving wheels in the rear part of the structure and transferring the weight of the driver to this axle, but also by placing special moving elements MLE on both sides of the front wheel.

The two new hybrid cars Seal 06 and Qin L from BYD impress not only with their equipment and design, but also with an incredible range of 2,100 kilometres. During CLTL testing of the new vehicles, fuel consumption did not exceed 2.9 litres per 100 kilometres.
According to BYD itself, high efficiency indicators were achieved thanks to an innovative system of energy consumption with the support of artificial intelligence. It is noteworthy that the novelties will not be an expensive purchase – only $13,762 per copy. The operation of such machines will also not lead to unnecessary expenses – any road can be travelled on them much cheaper.
